National Judoka from MAKÜ, Gizem Coşkun, Came Third in the Under-23 Balkan Judo Championship

Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ) Faculty of Sports Sciences student and national judoka Gizem Coşkun achieved a significant success at the Under-23 Balkan Judo Championship held in Peja, Kosovo. Competing in the +78 kg category, Coşkun secured third place with her outstanding performance, bringing great pride to MAKÜ and Turkey.

A total of 450 athletes from 13 countries participated in the championship held on October 19-20, 2024. Demonstrating a successful performance in this challenging competition, Gizem Coşkun won a medal by finishing third in the +78 kg category and received appreciation from the sports community.

MAKÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar issued a congratulatory message due to Coşkun's significant achievement. Rector Dalgar stated, “I wholeheartedly congratulate our Faculty of Sports Sciences Student and National Judoka Gizem Coşkun for her third place in the Balkans in the +78 kg category at the Under-23 Balkan Championship.”

This success once again demonstrated that MAKÜ's support for sports and athletes is bearing fruit.
